Private event photography is just one of the many facets of my photography business in Atlanta. There are a few key types of private event photography that fall under this umbrella. Including corporate events, political fundraising events, and trade show photography. I’m going to cover the importance of photographing each of these types of events, in the article below.
Private Event Photography
As a private event photographer in Atlanta, I feel I’ve gained so much insight into our area’s heartbeat! From working with members of the NFL to the area’s most prominent philanthropists, Atlanta is a city that is always on the move. With so many of its initiatives, and happenings occurring at private events! The biggest importance of capturing private event photography is solidifying the candid moments, as they unfold. Groups gather in private celebrations for many different purposes. Whether is an awards ceremony, or honoring or paying homage to a community milestone.
Private event photography provides a glimpse into the spectacularly candid moments of the event. The ones that are cause for celebration, a vehicle for change, or an inspired movement. For attendees who are spending the evening mixing and mingling, private event photography allows them to relive the evening. Or, conversely, get a view of the moments they may have missed. But, above all, it provides them with visual branding needed to extend their reach outside of the community! Allowing them to get others on board with their initiative. Below are photos from a private event that featured Takeo Spikes of the NFL as a keynote speaker.

Corporate Event Photography
I’ve previously talked at length about capturing photos at corporate events. Oftentimes, capturing these moments allows leaders and employees to relive the fun they recently experienced at a corporate event. Chronicling corporate events is a great way to produce a timeline of where the corporation or industry has been and where they are heading in the future! It’s like a visual growth chart of the company’s evolution. Furthermore, from my perspective as a corporate event photographer, it’s amazing to see people come together, in a lighthearted way, for common career & industry goals!
Oftentimes, these photos are frequently used for internal newsletters. Or on company or industry websites. Commemorating the event that was celebrated that year is a great way to boost morale not only internally, but across an industry! Whether it’s through team building events, break-out sessions, or the afterparty, there is a different energy to corporate events. One that doesn’t normally exist on day to day basis, “in the office”. And I am there from start to finish, to chronicle each moment!

Political Fundraising Events
Buckhead, Atlanta, is a thriving community where both political and philanthropy-based fundraising occurs regularly. Having worked events in this area of Atlanta multiple times, it’s easy to see how this community is an area for the catalyst of change. With these types of events, the focus is not posed photography. Instead, it’s about being both a guest and a spectator who can tell the story of what is occurring at the event as it unfolds. To hone in on breakout conversations where talks of how to better the community are ongoing. But also to be present enough to understand when the perfect opportunity has presented itself in order to cement that picture-perfect moment in action.

Trade Show Photography
Much like corporate events, trade shows are a wonderful way for like-minded professionals to come together. If you’re thinking of a trade show, you’re probably thinking of “the floor”. The area with all the booths representing individual businesses and industry leaders. But, in all honesty, a trade show is so much more than meets the eye! Yes, a big part of a trade show is ‘the floor’. But it’s also mini-conferences, seminars, conventions, dinners, and parties! Much like corporate events, a trade show is packed from start to finish with opportunities for learning and connections. My job as a trade show photographer is to capture the essence of a trade show. From booth presentations to industry conversations and everything in between!
